~ The Great Bear ~ (aka Judgement card)

~ Card of the Day ~
The Great Bear, Wildwood Tarot

Position on the Wheel - Yule, the Winter Solstice; Element - Earth

Keywords: renewal, universal mind, inescapable truth, the even hand, cosmic law, reincarnation, the sleep of the just, karma, nothing is forgotten, the cage of guilt, reaping what has been sown, the divinity of forgiving.

Coming across a Great Bear in the woods is enough to make anyone stop and tremble. You day of judgement and reckoning has arrived - what will you do? Run? Roar? Lie down and play dead?

This card requires us - urges or even forces us - to look at our recent behaviour - what have you sown that you are yet to reap? Can you mitigate that damage, or should you just shake off the dust and keep going?

There is only the Bear, and you. No one else. No one can make your decisions, or take your blame, or be responsible for you. You have to think fast. Go based on instinct and cunning.

The Great Bear is the guardian of souls who have been stripped bare, leaving behind ego and the past and opening their soul for healing - the Bear protects them as they hibernate and emerge renewed and refreshed.

Nature and Mother Earth won't judge you - they are simply practical in their application and not limited by human morals. The Universe knows all, and never forgets. Karma is the great balancer - and your scales might be tipped!

Change is coming. How you deal with the change is up to you.

Part of the change is how you deal with and judge others. Be honest, forgiving and patient. Everyone is on their own journey - and you cannot tell theirs, nor they assume yours.

I would love to hear your reflection of the Great Bear - and how it relates to the traditional Judgement card :)

  2. I feel like this card also reflects the universal forgiveness of our karma, the northern lights in the background greatly represent the wonder and awe and it seems like the best is protected by honoring and respecting our past present and future aspects of all our relations and ourselves
