~ Dream Incubation ~

·         When you have an important, pressing question that requires guidance
·         Intention matters more than ritual -
·         The guidance will come that night or soon after.

What you need to do is

a)      Formulate your question or request clearly

b)      Clear your channels – lay off caffeine, alcohol and drugs before bed

c)     Agree to accept and work with the  dreams given to you

Practical Exercise

1.       State your intention clearly

You could start by asking to improve dream recall. Whatever the question, it should be something important to you.  The question should be positive, life affirming and open-ended. For example, “Help me unlock my full creative energy” or “how should I handle the job interview”

2.     Write down your question or request.

Remind yourself of it throughout the day. When you go to bed, write it on a piece of paper and put it under your pillow – perhaps with a crystal or dream pillow!

3.     Record your dreams and explore how they might answer your question.

You may not see the connection at first glance. If you fail to catch the dream, write down the first thing you think of when you wake up.

Be alert for synchronicity – any events in waking life that might give you clues to your dream or an answer to your question.

4.     Remember the dream source is wiser than the ego!

You have invited your higher self to help you straighten out your affairs or give you advice on them. Be prepared to be pointed in a different direction altogether, or that your goals are wrong!
